06/22/02 International Trade Agreements: Threats and Opportunities

Current directions of international trade negotiations and agreements present significant opportunities , by improving access to foreign markets for Canadian traders and investors through a range of multilateral, regional and bilateral initiatives in 2002. A positive approach to this trend will lead to future survival and prosperity for progressive businessmen. On the contrary, a negative attitude, one which denies these treaties, one which hopes for continued protection via maintenance of import quotas and tariffs, will surely lead to self destruction.
